What is a Greek Orthodox Wedding?

In the Greek orthodox wedding, the visitors usually wait outside the church before the arrival f the bride. They wait along with the groom. After the bride arrives, the ceremony initiates. The marriage ceremony in Greece consists of exchange of rings between the bride and the groom. This is actually done three times. The number three indicates the trinity, the father, the son and the almighty. The service of betrothal is followed by the ceremonious offering of prayers. They remain crowned until the end of the marriage ceremony and their crowns symbolize the glory that has been bestowed on them by the Almighty. A baby is rolled in the marriage bed to enhance fertility. Money is thrown into the marital bed so that the couple may have economic opulence. The pinning of money into the bride is another traditional way.
