A pioneer wedding is actually what is known as a throw back wedding. A really far away throwback in fact to the time of the American pioneers. Though most pioneer weddings use settings form the 1820’s to 1850’s this has culminated into a spectacular delivery of culinary delights from early American recipes. This can result in two things, a very unique and memorable wedding and a very cost effective one as well. There are great wedding packages that start out at a mere USD$1,000.00 that include meals and decorating for a wedding party (inclusive of guests) of 60 individuals. However when you decide this you have to get the wedding dress and the grooms suit. These are so inexpensive to rent that it can save you a bundle and they make great wedding pictures too.
Many people use this type of wedding to get into magazines and get publicized in the newspaper. Renting a venue for a pioneer wedding is also pretty easy as in almost every state there are homes that are more than 150 years old and they go much cheaper than the traditional hotels or wedding reception lawns that are used. One major problem people encounter with traditional weddings is getting the guests to wear traditional clothing. That might just be a hard sell. The problem is actually finding the costumes. However if you look hard enough you will locate them. The best thing that we have seen is the ease in which the entire process is done, from start to finish. This makes us believe that a pioneer wedding can be a good one. Have a look at these slides that we got from a wedding between two great kids from the South.
